宏文学校华乐团成立于1993年。至今已步入了第十八个年头。在这期间，华乐团茁壮成长，团员人数曾高达130名。在2008年的新加坡青年节华乐中央裁判中，荣获一面银牌。
自创立以来，华乐团经常为校内的一些庆典、活动演奏。我们也受邀到不少国家公园局、联络所、市政理事会等所举办的庆典上演奏。除了传授学生各种演奏技巧外，校方也通过一系列的社区活动，如到老人院表演等，来灌输学生正确的价值观及培养学生的责任感。

从幼小开始学习华乐，除了能让小孩子有机会认识并接触一门流传了5000多年的中国表演艺术以外，也能培养个人的情操。为了培养学生在这方面的才艺，校方聘请了数位专业导师来指导学生。
Hong Wen School's Chinese Orchestra was established in 1993. Since then, it had gradually start to gain recognition and was able to recruit more than 100 members. In 2008, we had also won the silver medal for the Singapore Youth Festival Competition.
Since establishment, the Chinese Orchestra often performed in various celebrations and events. We are also invited by various organisation to perform on certain occasions. Besides teaching the students a skill, the school also arranged a series of CIP programs to cultivate them with values such as responsibilities.
Getting in touch with Chinese Orchestra since young, not only gives the child a chance to learn more about the 5000 years of history and skills of Chinese Orchestra, it also builds up a student's character. Furthermore, Hong Wen School has employ several professional instructors to impart the students with the relevant skills.
